You will be shown fabrics and finishes.
Your ideas will be understood.
You will be involved in the design of your gown
and offered very personal friendly advice and encouragement.
Your gown will be beautifully cut to flatter, using traditional making
up methods with hand finishing, including embroidery and beading
if you desire. Your gown will be underlined either with silk or cotton lawn.
Some gowns have lead weighted hems and foundation undergarments made from power mesh.
When you have approved the design and chosen
your fabrics a calico toile (mock up) is produced and fitted to your body.
Once the desired fit is achieved a pattern is made and the silk cloth
cut and made up. Several fittings later your gown will be completed,
(usually 3-4).
Veils are also made from silk tulle as well as corsages and headdresses.
A service for mens tailored waistcoats and neckties is also undertaken to complement the commissioned gown.
